  LD-1C Software-Defined Receiver
$285

Our flagship product is the LD-1C, a software-defined receiver for 100 kHz - 30 MHz.  It is an improved version of the LD-1B2, with RF gain for better sensitivity.  It also has input-protection diodes for use with a separate transmitter, and an RF sampler (useful if the optional transmitter module is installed). Attractively priced at $285, at the Lazy Dog Store
   LD-1B2 Software-Defined Receiver
Closeout Priced at $199.95

The previous model, a great value! Originally priced at $285.  Can be upgraded by adding an LD-1TX transmitter module.  Order one at the Lazy Dog Store!
  LD-1TR Transceiver - $410

It looks just like an LD-1B2, but the new LD-1TR is a 5-Watt HF / MF transceiver for Amateur Radio operators.  It's based on the LD-1B2 software-defined receiver, with the addtion of an internal transmitter module.  Order now at the Lazy Dog Store
  LD-1TX Trandmitter Module for
LD-1B, LD-1B2 or LD-1C - $125

Turn your LD-1B2 into an LD-1TR by adding an LD-1TX transmitter module (also compatible with the LD-1B).  No cutting, drilling, or soldering!  The only tool needed is a screwdriver.  Order now at the Lazy Dog Store

Perfect Portable Antenna

The Perfect Portable Antenna (PPA-20) is a lightweight end-fed Zepp antenna for the 20 meter band.  It packs up very small - the matching network, which goes at the driven end of the antenna, is shown here.  The red binding post connects to 1/2 wavelength of wire (33 feet of very flexible 24 AWG wire, included).  The far end can be suspended from a tree, a portable mast, or whatever is handy.  As a full 1/2 wavelength antenna, it needs no radial system, only a 3-foot counterpoise (included) connected to the black binding post.  It will handle up to 5 Watts, and is very efficient.  Now available for 40, 30, 17, 12, 15 and 10 meters.  It's available at the Lazy Dog Store

Lazy Dog Engineering designs and manufactures equipment and kits for Radio Amateurs.  Our current products include the LD-1B Software Defined Radio (assembled units and kits) and the PPA-20 end-fed Zepp antenna for portable operation on the 20 meter Amateur band.

Products under development include the LD-2, a direct-sampling software-defined radio which is now in the very early stages of development, and transmitter modules for the LD-1A and the LD-1B.

We also maintain a blog,  Garage-Shoppe.com:, of interest to engineering and engineering technology students and instructors, radio amateurs, and electronics enthusiasts.
